Abstract

The morphology of pollen grains of four Billbergia species (B. pyramidalis, B. saundersii, B. vittata, B. zebrina) has been studied using the light (LM) and scanning electron (SEM) microscopes. The detailed morphological characteristic of pollen grains has been given. It is noted that the pollen grains of Billbergia representatives are of large size, ellipsoid, bilaterally symmetric, monocolpate and have small reticulate sculpture of exine.
