Abstract

The localization and relative content of callose in Sagittaria sagittifolia L. cell walls of epidermis, mesophyll and vessels of submerged and air leaves in vegetative phase of growth have been investigated with laser confocal microscopy. The reliable increase of callose content in cell walls of epidermis and vessels of submerged leaves was confirmed in comparison with those in aerial leaves. The revealed peculiarities in callose distribution in cell walls are caused by physico-ecological peculiarities of environment.
